Privacy and cookies

This notice explains what happens to your information when you use this website. We’ve kept it short and in plain English.

Who we are

This website is run by Jamie Weekes, trading as JKW Towing & Recovery, based in Portishead, North Somerset. If you have a question about your information, call or WhatsApp 07575 291070.

What we collect and why

Quote form. If you fill in the quote form on our towing and transport page, we receive what you type: your name, phone number, email if you give it, and the details of the job. We use it only to reply to you and to quote for and carry out the job. The form is handled by Formspree, a form service that passes your message to us by email and stores submissions on its servers in the United States. You can read Formspree’s privacy policy.

Phone and WhatsApp. If you call or message us, we’ll have your number and whatever you send, such as photos of a vehicle or load, and we use it the same way. WhatsApp is run by Meta and its own privacy policy applies to messages sent through it.

Our lawful basis is that you’ve asked us for a quote or a job (steps before entering into a contract), and our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries. We keep enquiries only as long as we need them for the job and for our business records, and we don’t sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.

Facebook posts on this site

Our home page can show our latest Facebook posts using Facebook’s own Page plugin. This is off until you click “Show Facebook posts”. When you do, your browser loads content directly from Facebook (Meta Platforms Ireland), and Facebook may set cookies or read existing ones, and can see that you visited this page, especially if you are logged in to Facebook. What Meta does with this is covered by Meta’s privacy policy and cookies policy.

If you click “Show Facebook posts”, we remember that choice on your device (in your browser’s local storage, not a cookie) so you don’t have to click again. You can undo it any time with the “Stop showing Facebook posts” link under the feed, or by clearing your browser’s site data.

Cookies

This website doesn’t set any cookies of its own, and we don’t use analytics or advertising trackers. The only cookies that can come from using this site are Facebook’s, and only if you choose to show the Facebook posts as described above.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic technical information such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Just call or WhatsApp 07575 291070. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
